<p>Forensic accountants must have a healthy skepticism in their financial detective work, according to Bob Lindquist, a forensic accountant and principal at Price Waterhouse.  Tracking finances can take up to 18 months since the forensic accountant often must reconstruct financial information that has been shredded, thrown out or burned, he says.  One of his more difficult cases was a six-month search for the hidden assets of former Romanian dictator Nicholae Ceausescu after his assassination in 1990, he notes.</p>
